How do I upgrade my account?

Upgrading your account is simple. Just go to the account upgrade page and select the plan you want to upgrade to. If you are not familiar with advanced features such as PHP, CGI, POP3 emails, then we suggest the No-More-Ads Plan. This plan will operate just like your current free plan, except with much more features.

If, however, you are looking to add web stats, CGI/PHP scripts, email, etc. then you should try the Standard Plan.

In the account upgrade order form, enter your current TopCities address when asked to input a domain name. Also, in step 3, select "I am a new customer" if you have not upgraded your account before. The "Add this order to my account" option should only be used if you already have a paying account prior to this upgrade.

I've gotten a bandwidth limit error on my site. What should I do?

If you have gotten email notices saying your site has gone over the bandwidth limit, or are seeing a bandwidth error page on your site, then it means you have gone over your allowable site transfer limit. If you have gone over the daily limit, then your site will not be available until tomorrow. If you have gone over the monthly limit, then your site will not be available until the beginning of next month.

In an ideal world, unlimited bandwidth would be free for everyone. However, as it stands, we have to pay our network provider for bandwidth usage. This means we are only able to give out a limited amount of bandwidth to our free users. We're hoping that by providing you with a free service, you might enjoy it and perhaps even upgrade your account to a paid one. It is these paid accounts that allow us to remain in business.

However we realize that not everyone wishes to pay money to keep their site up. If this is the case, simply wait until your bandwidth is reset and your users will be able to use your site again.

Who is ServerPro and why should I care?

ServerPro handles all upgraded TopCities.com accounts. When you upgrade your account you will be forwarded to ServerPro.com. In your email invoices and credit card statements you will also see ServerPro as the hosting provider.

Also, for priority support (upgraded accounts), you should visit ServerPro.com. There are various tutorials there, as well as a support ticket system. You can also email support@serverpro.com if you have any questions about your account.

 

How do I cancel my upgraded account?

Cancelling your account is quite easy. However, you must follow our procedures to cancel it. The full procedure is listed here.

Mainly, we must authenticate an account cancellation request before it is processed. We've had customers who emailed us asking to close their account, but never authenticated themselves to us. For security purposes, accounts can only be closed once we have authenticated the request.

I upgraded and now I have a different control panel. Where can I get help on how to use it?

If you have upgraded your account to the Value, Standard, Premium, Platinum, or PlatinumPro plan, then your hosting control panel will change. You will be migrated to a more advanced control panel. This might confuse you if you haven't used it before, but rest assured that we are here to help you sort things out.

Do upgraded accounts need to follow the same Terms of Service of free members?

In a word, NO. Upgraded accounts are offered much more freedom in the content they can post. The only Terms of Service you will need to follow is the new ServerPro Terms of Service.


 

How do I update my billing information, view invoices, or make payment?

Once you have upgraded your account, you will be sent an upgraded account information email. In this email you will also receive a billing manager login. The billing manager is where you can manage all of your finanaces. You can do things such as:

  • Update credit card
  • Updating billing email
  • View your site information such as plan, addons, etc.
  • Upgrade your account, add bandwidth, disk space, etc.
  • View past and present invoices
