I've Signed Up, But Where is My Password?

Your password is sent to the exact e-mail address you entered when signing up. If you've checked and still haven't received the e-mail, please wait a few minutes as internet congestion can often slow the delivery of internet mail.

However, if it's been a few hours and you still haven't received your account password, you can request to have another one sent to you by going here.

If after doing this you still get nothing, it is safe to assume either one of three things:

  1. Your mail provider is down and mail cannot be delivered successfully to you.
    • Solution - Send a test e-mail to yourself and see if you can receive it. If you can, then this is not the cause.
  2. Your e-mail setup is incorrect, preventing you from getting your mail.
    • Solution - Same as above.
  3. You've mis-typed your e-mail address when signing up.

I've Mis-typed My E-mail Address Address. What Do I Do?

There are two ways of establishing your identity. One is with your password, and the other is access to your registered e-mail address. Without either one, it is impossible for TopCities to determine if you are the owner of a particular account.

The only recourse at this point is to either sign up for a completely new account or request for a password reset.

I've Lost My Password. How Do I Get Another Copy of It?

To retrieve a lost password, simply go to the login screen, enter your account name in the "Forgot Your Password?" box, then click the "Get It" button. A copy of your password will be immediately sent to your registered e-mail address. Please wait a few minutes for the mail to be received by your e-mail provider.

If, however, you no longer have access to the registered e-mail account, then the only way to get your account back is to request for a password reset.

Can I Change My Account Name?

In short, no. Once you've established your account name, it becomes part of your identity. Not only is it used for your login, but it becomes part of your web site address as well.

If, however, you feel that you must use a different account name, simply delete your existing account and create a new account.

My Password Doesn't Work. What's Wrong?

To login successfully, please follow these instructions carefully:

  • Type your user name in all lower case.
  • Type in your password exactly as you received it, case-sensitive.
  • Don't put in any spaces before/after your user name or password.
  • Upper case "i" is not the same as lower-case "L" is not the same as the number "1".

If after following the above instructions you are still not able to log in, then you should request for another copy of your password here.

How Do I Change My Password?

To change your password, you must first log in to the file manager and click "My Account". There you will see the option to change your password. More info can be found here.

How Do I Reset My Password?

In order to have your password reset, you must e-mail ALL of the following information to account@topcities.com. Make sure every piece of information is as accurate as possible or no password reset will occur.

Send to reset@topcities.com:

  • User name
  • Neighborhood
  • Approximate date you joined TopCities
  • Date of last successful login
  • Names of folders in your account
  • Approximate amount of space your account has used
  • Country of residence
